Prior to taking the career path of Senior Health and Safety Consultant, Mr Peter Watson spent 30 years as a Senior Manufacturing Manager/Director within a variety of medium to high risk work environments - namely chemical, oil and pharmaceutical manufacture/refinement. The practical and technical experiences gained during this time laid the foundation and seeded the interest to pursue a career in Health & Safety Consultancy, which he embarked upon in 2004.

Since taking the first career changing steps, Peter has demonstrated a passion for and has built upon his solid foundations by undertaking Continuous Professional Development initiatives so as to broaden his field of technical expertise; this resulting in his current professional status of being a Chartered Member of the Institute of Safety and Health and a Member of the International Institute of Risk Safety Management.

Over the last 5 years Peter has, as a health and safety consultant, explored and worked in a wide variety of industrial sectors :- Construction, Foundry, Stone Masonry, Oil & Gas but to name a few and this exposure along with his technical and practical expertise has established Peter has a respected source of expertise and information amongst our Client base.

Mr John Watson spent the first 20 years of his working life with a Major High Street Bank. In 2003 he was offered the opportunity to move into the field of Health & Safety by joining a large locally based Consultancy; this career change presented John with the opportunity to meet one of his personal ambitions in life, this being to make a personal difference.

His role within the company included working with and advising a wide variety of international, large and small business in relation to their health and safety training and project needs. The experience gained during this time along with his continued career orientated qualifications since, have laid a foundation which sets John apart from other consultants. This being demonstrated when dealing with our Clients in identifying their needs and then identifying the best means to deliver such needs.

Caroline Radford Office Manager

Office Manager

Mrs Caroline Radford has spent much of her working career in administration, during this time she has gained a wealth of experience along with appropriate advanced level administrative qualifications, this cumulating in her gaining an HNC in Multimedia. This experience gained has enabled her to adapt to a large spectrum of office environments and senior office roles.

In 2012, Caroline took the decision to start up her own business as a Virtual Office Assistant, which was proving very successful and whilst carrying out these duties contracted work from Watson & Watson Health & Safety Consultants Ltd.

The initial success of this contracted work and Caroline's proven track record inspired the Directors of Watson & Watson Health & Safety Consultants Ltd to offer her the role of Office Manager in April 2015. Since accepting the role, Caroline has continued to develop the existing office systems and has built up an excellent Client liaison, this being facilitated by her approachable, friendly and can do attitude, which our current Clients and potential Clients have duly noted.

Joanne began her Health and Safety career as an SSIP assessor and advisor for one of the industry’s leading Supply Chain Assessment Companies; shortly after she self-funded her NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety. During her time in this role Joanne gained a vast amount of experience regarding the requirements for different Health and Safety documentation and Health and Safety legislation; and formed a sound knowledge of CDM Assessments and SSIP criteria. After undertaking the SSIP Assessor Training course Joanne was listed as a SSIP Registered Assessor in October 2016, after demonstrating that she met the criteria requested by the SSIP board.

Since beginning her career in Health and Safety Joanne has consistently undertakenher ‘Continuous Professional Development’in order to broaden her knowledge and to keep abreast of Health and Safety legislation. Along with her NEBOSH General Certificate, Joanne has also sat her NEBOSH National Certificate in Construction Health and Safety, passing with Distinction. As a passionate and enthusiastic Health and Safety professional Joanne is keen to continue building on her knowledge and skill set and is currently studying for her NEBOSH National Diploma. Joanne is thrilled to be the newest member of the Watson & Watson Team.

Estelle Sladen Accounts Manager

Accounts Manager

Ms Estelle Sladen has spent all her working life in accounts and administrative roles, primarily within the engineering sector. During this time, she has accumulated a great deal of experience within the administrative field and extended her skill set into the field of accounts and finances. Along with her wealth of experience within these field Estelle also holds an NVQ in Business Administration, and an NVQ in Customer Service.

Estelle joined the Watson & Watson team in November 2015and quickly established herself as a highly valued and respected member of the team. Since accepting the role of Accounts Manager at Watson & Watson Estelle has organised and streamlined the accounts administration process and aided in developing excellent client liaison procedures.

Further to this, over the past 3 years Estelle has successfully assisted hundreds of clients in completing their SSIP accreditation; including CHAS, SMAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor, and in doing so has gained a wealth of experience which she passes on to our Clients.

Estelle’s systematic and thorough approach to her work, along with her friendly and flexible attitude with Clients has been recognised by both colleagues and Clients alike; this being instrumental in providing the company’s customer focussed ethos to our Clients.

Estelle currently works for Watson & Watson Health and Safety Consultants on a part time basis and can be reached in the Kirkby in Ashfield Office on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, or in her absence our other staff ensure the continuity of the services provided.
