IOSH (The Institution of Occupational Safety and Health) is one of the largest health and safety membership bodies providing professional health and safety qualifications for the workplace.
With over 44,000 members in 99 countries worldwide, IOSH is globally recognised as a leading health and safety membership body who pride themselves on raising the standard of health and safety in the workplace.

All IOSH courses help learners to understand the risk assessment process, using a basic scoring system which can be used during assessments. Learners are also taught how to define risks in the workplace so they can spot potential risks before they happen as even mundane, repetitive tasks that appear simple can result in a potential risk if not carried out correctly.
All IOSH training courses look at health and safety processes and systems throughout the workplace including protective equipment, emergency procedures, site inspections, permits and health and safety signage to highlight how vigilant safety checks across all areas of a business can help to reduce the number of risks.
All IOSH courses look at identifying hazards, however this varies depending on the course. Hazards are identified both internally and externally, from environmental, chemical, physical or mechanical in the workplace to hazards that might affect the business externally such as activities, location, equipment and substance.
There are two distinct types of IOSH training course available; these are IOSH Working Safely and IOSH Managing Safely. The differences between the two are outlined below:
